Sometimes you just have to look past what’s in front of you and see the beauty of what’s always been.
It is in these hard-pressed days that it is difficult to find the good in anything – no matter how hard you try. This year, as anyone would attest, has been one for the books. However (and yes however!), I look deep, deep down and try to find that silver lining. Because truth be told, there is always one. Always.
For us, that silver lining was not all that much of a surprise. We knew of its forthcoming and we anticipated dutifully.
Our handsome son and daughter-in-love added one more golden nugget to the brew. Maverick William Moberg was born May 5, 2020. During these unprecedented times of physical distancing, we have not been able to hold him just yet. We sit and we wait. We watch and we see him grow right before our very eyes. How handsome he has become.
For years my mom was alone and often by herself after my dad passed away. She prayed daily for us, her children, and once the grandkids came, her list was boundless. She had plenty to do! And she did it well. We have known and felt her prayers even to this day.
I get it. I get it now. Now with this, all we can do is pray.
And thank goodness for technology! Ben and Lydia are often sending pictures and videos of the kids to us. We watch this little man grow into his own. We watch the interaction with his big sister Chloe. And boy, does she love him. Maverick has someone to look after him and mom and dad to look over both of them.
Maverick, you are highly favoured. You are emphatically loved, clothed in perfection and THIS is your time.
As with your sister, we promise to support and pray for your mom and dad as they seek to carry the responsibility to love and raise you through these crazy days.
We love you little Maverick. We look forward to seeing you look up and run your little feet with open arms to us. And we also look forward to the days when you, as a young man, just need a listening ear with your Mimi and Papa. We will be here for you.
