This was written a couple of weeks ago when we had a “bizarre” cold front move in with freezing rain and knocked out power for many throughout the city. I sat on my phone and blogged. We did make it through though!

I must admit having no electricity throws a hard wrench into your routine. We’ve had no power since 10 this morning. Now it is 9pm. Thankfully our house is still warm.

Store-bought ready-made chicken fingers and brownies for supper. Quiet evening. Fire going. Correction: FIREPLACE ROARING. Candles lit. A little bit of reading. No toilet flushing and loads of fun playing YouTube videos of growling puppies trying to get my shih-tzu all worked up. So fun. We watched an episode of This Is Us on Don’s iPhone and ran up his data a little too much. Oh well. It was hoot anyways.

My man is trying to get the generator started now so our sump pump doesn’t overflow. Oh, the joys of country living.

Wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Praying power comes on soon.

Still Thankful,

Pam xo

  • Wonderful blog! Do you have any tips for aspiring writers?
I’m planning to start my own blog soon but
I’m a little lost on everything. Would you advise starting with a free
platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many choices out there that I’m completely confused ..
    Any ideas? Thank you!

    • Thanks Julio. What do you like to write about? Where can I find some of your writing? I’d love to read what you have written! Tips? I usually try and become more “in the moment” thinking of what I am going through, how I feel. I am trying to dig a little deeper about my thoughts and not “surface-y” feelings and write about that. Hope this helps.
